CHICAGO IN KAZAKHSTAN 2012 BY ASTANA STUDENTS

The only place in Kazakhstan where you can watch the musical "CHICAGO"! I started writing this review back in the middle of March, but then abandoned it due to some circumstances. At the end of the post, I will name the reasons for my decision to finish and publish this review (if I may say so). March 17, I visited the musical "CHICAGO", which was staged by the Capital's Youth Theater ENU "Attraction". And honestly, I have not received such bright and positive emotions for a long time. Thank you for this I want to tell all these young guys, their whole friendly troupe, and of course especially their artistic director Ilyas Danyarov .

Actually, I already heard about the theater for a long time, and even in my opinion about a year ago I attended one of their performances (when they were still free and did not have a name).

My friend, on the other hand, attended the production of the "Attraction", the musical "Producers" and he really liked it. And later, it so happened that I met one of the participants of their troupe and she invited me to "Chicago" already. But still the main reason for my interest in this event was that I was at one time pleased with the Oscar-winning adaptation of this 2002 musical with Richard Gere, Renee Zellweger and received a well-deserved award for her role in this film Catherine Zeta Jones.

And so, we came with a friend to this show from students of ENU, KF MSU, and also KAZGYU. Was, what is called a sold-out! All the seats were crammed to the eyeballs. Not that I was surprised, I was just glad that our people, so to speak, are attached to art. I was sitting on the 9th row. It's almost center, slightly closer to the front rows.

The presentation lasted about 2 hours with an intermission for about 10 minutes. And all this is really so fascinating that it was not boring during all this action.

The actors played everything just fine, very well got used to the role. Especially liked the male roles (no matter how paradoxically sounded) Amos and Billy Flynn, very convincingly in the performance of Diaz Ahmetbekov and the director of this action, Ilyas Danyarov, respectively.

Sounded familiar compositions in a very, I must say, good live performance. And especially when they sang from each other on the back.

The choreographic component was also at the proper level. There were even performed some kind of dangerous stunts.

The costumes were, as they say in such cases, simple, but tasteful. And I think the whole male half of the audience appreciated the outfits of the girls :)

I forgot to say that the tickets are very inexpensive and as reported, "all the proceeds go to the production of the musical" Beauty and the Beast "as sponsorship." I would also like to see this. In general, the whole team of the theater "Attraction" is really good fellows and are doing the right thing! They make the capital even slightly more cultured.
